Letter from the President - 6/25/2025

Hello Stars Nation!

I can not believe it is almost the end of this season and time to look ahead to 2026, crazy how fast every season goes! I am so proud of our teams, many of which are playing the best ball we have seen from them right now.

A few reminders of the process looking forward...

Current Stars at all levels do not need to attend a tryout. Your season is your tryout. Once you register, most players will get an offer back for the 2026 season. Some of these may be team specific and some may be general offers as levels/team assignments can change. The first thing you need to do is go to: https://lakecountystars.org/ and register so that your offer can be sent. Once you get your offer, we urge you to accept as soon as possible as we are already doing tryouts for 2026 with new offers going out daily. Feel free to reach out to Cynthia at info@lakecountystars.org for more information on any of this.

Also, don't forget about our referral award. For any player that uses your name and signs with us, you will receive a $100 cash reward so spread the word!

Looking ahead, over the summer we will be doing significant improvements to the facility including building another pitching tunnel to allow even more space for our teams and families. Also new for next season, your fees at 13u, 14u and High School levels all include 1 additional day of strength and conditioning training a week with our training partner right next door, Tactic Sports Performance. So these teams will have 3 days of baseball a week over the winter (2 practices + 1 training)! We are very excited about all of these new changes!

This is the time of year that lots of rumors fly around about baseball programs. I want to assure you that the Stars are strong and thriving. We have more kids than ever looking to play for us and we anticipate another year of growth for our program. Please always feel free to reach out if you hear of anything concerning and we can address it and give you an honest answer.

We would like to give a formal shout out to Chris Shannon who, at the end of this season, will be stepping away from Stars Baseball as a coach and a director to focus more on his family and career. We want to recognize all of his years with us as he has been an integral part of the growth of our program. In his time with us, he molded some of our best athletes, made an impact on countless players and we will always consider him to be part of our Stars family. We wish him nothing but the best!

Finally, thank you for your continued support. We truly consider ourselves to be a different kind of a program with a true personal touch and we value each of our families immeasurably. It means a great deal that you entrust us with your players. One of the best things about being part of the Stars is our families that come back year after year to us!

I can't wait to see everyone finish the season strong! As always, GO STARS!

Phil Carona - President, Lake County Stars
