I want to start my first President’s Message of the 2023 season with a celebration...

Hello Stars Nation!

I want to start my first President’s Message of the 2023 season with a celebration that we now have all teams from 9u-18u filled! This was the fastest we have ever filled our rosters, with by far and above the best talent to choose from.

If you are looking for Stars gear, click here or go to our home page lakecountystars.org and about halfway down is a link to our Stars gear stores. This way you can show your Stars Pride everywhere you go!

As we are starting a new season, I wanted to give you a little who's who in the leadership of the Stars. If you are not sure who to reach out to for something, reach out to Cynthia and she will point you in the right direction:

  • Chris Shannon-High School Director: coachshannon@lakecountystars.org
  • Jason Acevedo-Lead Instructor: coachace@lakecountystars.org
  • Cynthia Zarkowsky-Operations Director: info@lakecountystars.org
  • Zack Maze-Webmaster/Setmore/Facility Scheduling: webmaster@lakecountystars.org
  • Chris Field-Youth Program Co-Director (resource for youth coaches and families): coachfield@lakecountystars.org
  • Tom Rawski-Youth Program Co-Director (resource for youth coaches and families): coachrawski@lakecountystars.org

For all Youth Families, a reminder that you get 3 one on one lessons with the coach of your choice and clinics with Coach Ace included in your fees.  Make sure you book these and take advantage of the excellent training opportunities before the end
of the calendar year. If you need direction in who to book with or if you want to continue lessons after your three and need guidance of who would be a good fit, feel free to reach out to Cynthia as well on this.

If you are looking for personal training to build up your player and protect their bodies for the season, please reach out to Kip Steingart to find out what he can do for your player. You can find his info here: https://www.lakecountystars.org/performance

Code of Conduct Reminder

At the Stars, we pride ourselves on having wonderful families and players who really understand what it means to be a good teammate. We take our Codes of Conduct very seriously and will enforce them should we need to. These were part of what you agreed to when you accepted your offer for the 2023 season, and I have included them on here on this page as well if you want to make sure you and your player fully understand them.

Sponsorships / Donations

Own a business/know a business looking for a tax deduction and want to help your favorite Stars player at the same time? We offer a unique way to offset your fees. If you are able to get a sponsor, and they are easier to get than you think, the donation is a 50/50 split with the Stars and your player.  I've attached our sponsorship information on this page as well.

We are also looking for a new couch to replace the one in our lobby which is looking worn.  If anyone has a brown or black leather couch/sectional that's in decent shape and would like to donate it to the Stars, we would be happy to provide you a tax donation letter.  Please reach out to Cynthia if you do.

Dates to remember

Please mark your calendars:

  • UNIFORM FITTING DAY: Saturday October 29 from 9am to 4pm (open house drop in). This will be for both youth and high school Stars teams.
  • LOU MALNATI'S FUNDRAISER: Monday December 5 - see the flyer at the bottom of this page and go eat at Lou Malnati's on December 5 to support this Stars fundraiser!  Good at Lake Zurich, Libertyville or Buffalo Grove!
  • PICTURE DAY: Sunday April 16th (youth program only). More details to come on times when it is much closer.

I love seeing the facility hopping every day! It is what I envisioned when we built our home. Make sure to sign up for family cage times should you want during the fall as once practices start it will be harder to get open times (same link to Setmore above). I am at the Clubhouse often these days so when you see me there please say hello! I can’t wait to see all the off season growth that will be happening over the next few months and am truly excited for what is sure to be the best season yet for Stars Nation.

As always, GO STARS!
